In July 2023, Black El Paso Voice paid tribute to our county’s inaugural Black male and female judges, presenting them with lifetime achievement awards. So, while the soft launch edition isn’t the offiical First Issue, it is in honor of two people who defied odds and are examples of resilience and determination in the face of racial disparity. Recognized for their remarkable careers in law and significant contributions to civic and social causes within the community, they embody excellence in both professional and public spheres. We offer a brief overview of their remarkable journeys and invite you to join us for intimate, in-person discussions where you can discover more about their experiences and inquire about the realities of growing up, excelling, and living Black in our border region.
